Explore the ‘Garden of Ireland’, with our private Day Tour of County Wicklow.
Our tour starts in Glendalough, where you can see the stunning site chosen by St Kevin for his monastery and learn about the legends and stories associated with this ancient place. We move on to Avoca Woollen Mills where you have the chance to do a little shopping. We also take a visit to Powerscourt House and Gardens, one of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland (as voted by National Geographic). The Gardens stretch over 47 acres and offer visitors a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statues, ornamental lakes, secret hollows, and rambling walks. Powerscourt House today offers some of the best views in Ireland, overlooking the breath-taking Sugarloaf Mountain.
Glendalough
For thousands of years people have been drawn to ‘the valley of the two lakes‘ for its spectacular scenery, rich history, archaeology, and abundant wildlife. Glendalough is a remarkable place that will still your mind, inspire your heart and fill your soul. The Glendalough Valley is located in the Wicklow Mountains National Park and has many attractions to entice, entertain and enthral visitors, from its world-famous Monastic Site with Round Tower to its scenic lakes and valleys, as well as a selection of walks and trails in the area including The Wicklow Way.
Powerscourt Estate
Powerscourt House, a 68-room mansion, was completed in 1741. The mansion was designed around the medieval castle in the style of Palladian architecture and featured baroque dome-roofed towers on either side, giving it in the words of one architectural historian, “The massive dignity of a great Italian Renaissance villa.” Powerscourt Gardens were recently voted No.3 in the World’s Top Ten Gardens by National Geographic. The Gardens stretch over 47 acres and offer visitors a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statues and ornamental lakes, secret hollows and rambling walks. Powerscourt house today offers some of the best views in Ireland, overlooking the breath-taking Sugarloaf Mountain.
